FEATURES
What is RingOut? How does it work?
RingOut enables you to dial a number from your iPhone and display the AT&T Virtual Receptionist toll free number as the outgoing Caller ID. This is useful if you want to make business calls from your iPhone and show your toll free business number in the caller ID. Also, you may want to use this feature to shield your personal mobile number when making outbound calls from your iPhone.
There are two different modes that you may choose from to initiate a RingOut call. You can take a call directly from your iPhone or choose another location. If you choose to take the call directly from your iPhone, Virtual Receptionist will place a call to your toll free number, where the service will immediately answer and connect you to the caller you are trying to contact. (Note that your iPhone’s call log will indicate that your RingCentral number was dialed instead of the caller you are trying to contact. However your Virtual Receptionist application and account call logs will display the calls correctly.)
If you choose to take calls from a different location, Virtual Receptionist will place a call to the location you select. When you answer the call, the service will connect you to the caller you are trying to reach. (Use this option if you have poor reception where you are located or if you prefer to take call on a regular landline phone.) The locations you may choose from are based on your Virtual Receptionist Forwarding Numbers. If you would like to select additional numbers, please add the number to your Forwarding Numbers list.
Why do I always get an incoming phone call when I try to make a call with RingOut?
This happens when your RingOut Mode is set to take a call with “Another Phone”. To dial a number directly from your iPhone, you must change your RingOut Mode to take calls from “My iPhone”. Choosing this setting will allow the application to call your toll free number and then have the service connect you to the caller you are trying to contact.
Why does my caller ID on a RingOut call only show my toll free number and not my company name?
Currently RingOut calls only support showing your AT&T Virtual Receptionist toll free number in the outbound caller ID. We are working on enabling showing the toll free number and company name in future versions.

Can I make international calls using the RingOut feature?

log into your AT&T Virtual Receptionist online portal and retrieve messages for 30 days.
How does voicemail work for my AT&T Virtual Receptionist number?
Calls to your AT&T Virtual Receptionist toll free number are forwarded to numbers you designate. If you don’t pick up the call at any of your forwarding numbers, the call goes to into your AT&T Virtual Receptionist voicemail, and not the voicemail associated with any of your forwarding numbers. The voicemail can be view and played from your Virtual Receptionist application from the Messages tab.
Additionally, the voicemail will be emailed to you as an MP3 attachment and you can retrieve the email and listen to the attachment from your iPhone.

The fax messages are also viewable from your online account Overview page by going to Account > Overview.
Additionally, the fax can be emailed to you as a PDF attachment.

No, your Virtual Receptionist service is able to receive voice and fax calls simultaneously. That means, while an incoming fax is being received, you will still be able to take and answer incoming calls.
How do I forward a voicemail or fax message from AT&T Virtual Receptionist?

BILLING and SUPPORT
Is AT&T Virtual Receptionist really free?
Yes! You get a toll free number with 60 minutes of toll free service each month for free—and there are no setup, activation or cancellation fees. However, please note that if you set up AT&T Virtual Receptionist to forward incoming toll free calls to your iPhone, or if you use AT&T Virtual Receptionist to make RingOut calls from your iPhone, these minutes will count against the usage in your AT&T wireless plan. Also, downloading the AT&T Virtual Receptionist application from the iTunes App Store directly to your iPhone will count as data usage on your AT&T data plan and may incur applicable charges.
How long can I use the free AT&T Virtual Receptionist service?
You can use the free service as long as you like. However, if your account is inactive (no phone calls or login activity to your Web account) for 60 days or more, RingCentral reserves the right to take back your number and close your account. You will receive notification by email if your account has been inactive for more than 60 days.
What happens if I use the service more than 60 minutes per month?
When usage exceeds 60 minutes, you will need to add additional time to your account. You will receive email notifications as you approach your 60 minute monthly limit. To avoid service interruption, upgrade to one of our affordable paid plans which start as low as $4.99 per month. If you exhaust your free minutes and do not upgrade, callers to your AT&T Virtual Receptionist number will hear an error message stating your number is unavailable.
How do I upgrade the AT&T Virtual Receptionist service to get more minutes?
It’s simple and you can even do it from your iPhone. From the Home screen of AT&T Virtual Receptionist, tap the displayed minutes remaining and follow the instructions on your phone. Or, you can just log into your online account and click the upgrade button on the Overview tab.
What happens if I exceed the minutes included in my paid AT&T Virtual Receptionist plan?
If you exceed the minutes included in your paid-calling plan, you will automatically purchase “additional minutes” in $5.00 increments at the rate of $0.05 per minutes and your credit card will be charged. Unused “additional minutes” roll over from month to month for up to 12 months.
If you signed up for the AT&T Virtual Receptionist Unlimited plan, you are subject to a reasonable use limit of no more than twice the average monthly usage for all other RingCentral unlimited plans. You also may not use the service for any prohibited use (e.g., for call-in lines, call centers, conference calling or other high volume or multi-person calling purposes). You will receive notification if you reach this limit. If your usage exceeds the fair use limit, RingCentral, in its sole discretion, may either terminate your unlimited plan or immediately convert your unlimited plan to the paid-calling plan with the greatest fixed number of monthly Plan Credits and charge you accordingly. Also, please be aware that unlimited plans only allow for domestic person-to-person calling. For international calling, you will be billed separately at international pricing rates.
Is the Unlimited Plan really unlimited?
The unlimited plan provides you with a toll-free number and an unlimited number of monthly Plan Credits, subject to certain restrictions. Your use of the Services is subject to reasonable use limitations. For all Virtual Receptionist Accounts, reasonable use means that your use of the Service does not materially impair RingCentral’s ability to provide the Service to other users. If your use of the Service exceeds twice the average monthly usage for all other RingCentral unlimited plans, it is presumed that you have used the Service for a Prohibited Purpose, whereby RingCentral, in its sole discretion, may either terminate your unlimited plan or immediately convert your unlimited plan to the paid-calling plan with greatest fixed number of monthly Plan Credits and charge you accordingly.
